I drove to our meeting point with their personal playlist on MAX volume, singing basically every word + feeling prepared in the sudden case of a lyrical stand-off. I re-read their questionnaire they sent me w all of their personal little details: parts of their story that I hoped to bring to life. I studied my vision, and studied it again. I wrote my list of notes. I scoped the area 3 days total and then again 6 hours prior to the session to study the light + every little nook and cranny that could be used in bringing their love story to life through my art.
We both pulled up in the parking lot at the same time and got the first few awkward moments out of the way. Within a few minutes of spending time with these two, I knew they'd be down for the adventure I had planned.
We made it about half way through the session. As we neared the end, I asked them if, for the very last shot of the night, they'd be down to try something out. I didn't give them any more info, but told them they'd likely get a little messy. They were in.
We walked across the street with our Coca Colas and I told them what I wanted them to try. This, my friends, is the beautiful, adventurous, messy + wild fun that I crave to create; both for art + experience.
